Date of Birth: 21st April 1991

Lives: Reigate, Surrey

BIO

One of Britain’s outstanding young drivers and just 18 years of age, Max is one of the youngest ever winners in Formula 3 and had already become the youngest to stand on the podium when he finished 2nd at Oulton Park in 2008, aged just 16 years old.

Now a member of the MSA Race Driver Elite scheme and a BRDC Rising Star, he took the unusual step of going straight into Formula 3 after two seasons racing in the MSA’s training formula for 14 year olds – T Cars. He had achieved many victories and finished runner-up in the T Car Championship in 2006.

Prior to graduating to car racing, Max followed the established route through Karting, competing as a 10 year old in Cadets and then in Junior categories before stepping up to the senior ICA class. He raced successfully in the UK and in European events with a highlight being his drive to 2nd place in the 2004 European Champions Cup in Rome.

In 2007 Max enjoyed a one-off outing in World Sportscars, sharing a Zytek LMP1 with his older brother – Touring Car star Tom Chilton, in the Silverstone 1000km. Max displayed a great deal of maturity in his performance and the pair finished in 5th place.

Max is now testing in GP2 and will compete initially in the Asian Series prior to a full season of European GP2 in 2010.
