Chilton again in the points once again

The second night race in Abu Dhabi brought further satisfaction and frustration for Ocean Racing Technology. The Portuguese GP2 team finished in the points once again, thanks to Max Chilton, however they also recorded another DNF for Fabio Leimer, once again due to mechanical problems.

Rookie shines on debut at Ocean Racing Technology

Max Chilton carried out a very convincing debut for the Ocean Racing Technology GP2 team on Friday at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi where the second round of the GP2 Asia championship is underway. 18th on the starting grid, the English driver drove a solid and intelligent race to climb his way back into the top eight and the points by the time the chequered flag fell. By crossing the line in eight, not only did he secure a point in his debut race, but he also secured pole position for race two.

Ocean heads to the Marina with its Main Series driver line-up

Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton out to conquer Abu Dhabi

Ocean Racing Technology will take to the race track once again on the first weekend in February when the Portuguese GP2 team picks up the Asian series where it left off in November 2009, on the Yas Marina circuit. Ocean Racing Technology will count on its new driver duo, handpicked to also defend their colours in the Main Series, in Abu Dhabi.  For Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton, the impending mission will also assist in preparing them for the upcoming GP2 Main Series.

Ocean Racing Technology teams up with Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton

A young driver line-up to shine in the GP2 Main Series

  

Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton will form the driver duo for the Ocean Racing Technology team in the 2010 GP2 Series. In only their second year of participation in the Formula 1 feeder category, the team belonging to Tiago Monteiro and Jose Guedes is aiming to reinforce its competitiveness and speed which was proven in the 2009 Main Series. Fabio Leimer was at the wheel for Ocean Racing Technology for the opening round of the GP2 Asia Series, in Abu Dhabi last month, where he secured the 3rd best time in qualifying. In the race his pace was constant and he showed excellent communication skills with the team. The 20 year old Swiss racer won the Formula Master championship in 2009 dominating the series with 7 race victories and 6 pole positions. He has proved in his testing at Jerez, Paul Ricard and Abu Dhabi and in qualification and race performance in the GP2 Asia race in Abu Dhabi that he is ready to move into the main GP2 series.
